Calling All Game Masters, Tourament Organisers, and Willing Volunteers

The gamers of winnipeg need your assistance. We here at gaming have heard the cries of the players "We want more games!" and we're going to give it to them. If you are interested in running any sort of gaming event (RPG, CCG, Board, CG, etc...) please e-mail us or stop by the forums and post a message. If you are a player and aren't seeing a particular game you are interested in playing on our game list send us a message and we'll try to find some one interested in running it as an event.

The Sleeping Dragon

The Sleeping Dragon is one of the new hospitality suites this year that has offered to work with gaming on some common goals. These include: quiet gaming space for atmosphere intense games (i.e. Call of Cthulhu), a reason for gamers to see more of the con than the gaming rooms, and of course have hot food for those gruelling 6+ hour tournaments. As well we are currently working on a possible game check-out system for board and card games, check back for more details as they become available.

All this and more can be yours for... playing games at Keycon?

Yes people that's right, many of the gaming events at this year's Keycon are getting in Prize support for players. In the past we have really only seen prize support come in for the CCG events like Raw Deal, Vampire: the Eternal Struggle, etc... This year however the GMs seem to be pulling out all the stops in trying to get stuff to give out to players.

So what does this mean for the average con goer? In short it means that by simply having fun and playing in certian games you could get free stuff. What kind of free stuff? Well here's a list of what's up for grabs:

• Chess: "The Keycon Chess King" Trophy
• Halo 2: A Halo 2 Trophy and possibly a T-Shirt
• Tunnels and Trolls: A cube of D6s to the best role player and a pair of D6s to everyone else
• Paranoia XP: Everyone gets a D20, the most entertaining player also gets a bonus prize as assigned by The Computer
• Call of Cthulhu - Incandescent: a set of percentile dice (two d10s) for each player and to any surviving characters either bonus sanity or a meeting with a Great Old One*

Now not to be out done, Brian has scored a rather nice bonus prize for the Raw Deal Smackdown Constructed events:

"WWE Canada has generously supplied 2 pairs of tickets to the May 28th WWE Event at the MTS Center. These will be awarded during the Raw Deal tournaments on Saturday and Sunday." - Brian

For those wondering: if the WWE tickets are the bonus prize, whats the regular prize(s)? Here is your answer:

"Brian would like to thank Comic Images who have generously donated 6 uncut sheets including 2 uncut sheets of Ultra Rares!!!!! As in previous years each tournament will have at least 2 belts given away." - Brian

Gaming Grid

Yes we are getting close enough to con time that we can start booking the spaces. As such we are providing this handy grid so that people can see what games are happening where and when. Of course if you want to see the games sorted by category, we have left that list intact and just moved it down below the grid. If you are not seeing a time for your event on the grid contact us and we can set up a time and location for you.

Raw Deal 24/7 Hardcore Tournament

Since this tournament runs the entire duration of Keycon, it is not listed in the grid below. If you are interested in participating you will require at least one Raw Deal deck. To enter you can either try to track down Brian and get your rules/tracking sheet, or stop by The Sleeping Dragon hospitality suite and pick one up there.
