Finals

To determine who advances to the final round use these formulas:
In a tournament with:
8 players or less: top 2 finishers
9-24 top 4 finishers (1 round of semi-finals to a top 2 final)
25+ top 8 finishers (2 rounds of semi-finals to a top 2 final)

Diversity

The top slots should be filled with as many different wrestlers as possible. If there are slots left over after all the different wrestlers have filled the others, then use the next best records.

For example: If you need a top 4 and out of the 24 players, 12 were Rock, 4 were Kane, 4 were Stone Cold and 4 were Jericho, the top ranked player of each wrestler will advance. However, if there were no Jericho players and 8 Kane, then the top 3 slots would be filled by one of each wrestler and the 4th slot would be filled by the next best record among all the wrestlers.

Further example: If you needed two slots and you had four players: Rock with 4-0 record, Rock with 3-1 record, Triple H with 2-2 record and Kane with 1-3 record, the top two slots would go to the 4-0 Rock and the 2-2 Triple H.
