TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES

The Keycon forums are unfortunately down for the count right now. The problem is being investigated and we hope to have things running again before too long. Thanks for your patience.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

Please take the time to read a Letter to Keycon Members and the Keycon Code of Conduct. Our members' safety and well-being is our primary concern. Let's work together to make our convention safe and welcoming.

GUESTS & PROGRAMMING

Check Out Our Tentatively Final Programming Schedule

Our Programming department has released their final pre-con programming schedule, which can be viewed as pdf files on the Programming page. Please remember that while these grids are pretty complete, there may still be changes before and at the convention!

Steampunk Show & Dinner

Not only have we selected a truly appetizing menu with options for every palate, but now we have details on the evening's performance! Kiss the Giraffe Productions presents Clockworks for your enjoyment!

Preview and Q & A - The People vs. George Lucas

Director Alexandre O. Philippe will be joining us to preview and discuss his documentary The People vs. George Lucas.

As Promised, More Guests!

Brandon author Craig Russell has been confirmed to attend Keycon 28...

...as have Winnipeg authors Susan Rocan and Sherry Peters!

And be sure to join us for illuminari - a neo-tribal and world fusion belly dance ensemble, presenting what could be the world premiere performance of a bedoiun-steampunk belly-dance!

But Wait, There's More!!!

Keycon is pleased to announce we've added more guests to our roster! Now confirmed is Chris Rutkowski, writer and Manitoba's own UFO go-to guy. More details...

New Bonus Guests Added

Rae St. Clair Bridgman will be appearing at Keycon this year, reading from her latest book Kingdom of Trolls, on Saturday morning. Read more...

Author Robert J. Sawyer will be appearing at Keycon - programming details will be posted when finalized, but in the meantime, check out our blurb, then his website, and then GO BUY YOUR WEEKEND PASS!

Authors, Start Your Pitches!!

Have a manuscript that you're ready to sell? Or maybe you're looking for advice for a work-in-progress. Keycon is bringing the editors to you. More information...

An Unfortunate Turn of Events

Darrell K. Sweet, one of our Artist Guests of Honour, will unfortunately be too ill to travel to Keycon, and has had to cancel. All of Con Comm sends Darrell their well wishes.

PROGRESS REPORTS

Progress Report 2

Coming into the home stretch, here's PR2. Take a look here or print this one. If you haven't got your membership yet, surely this will convince you!

Progress Report 1

Keycon is less than six months away, so of course preparations are well in hand. See what's happening in each of our Con Comm departments - check out PR1 now! (If you'd like to print a copy, print this one instead.)

You'll need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view the file; on the off-chance it's not already on your computer, go here.

LET'S BUILD SOME COMMUNITY!

Tell Us About Your Corner of Fandom

Keycon brings us together once a year, but as a group, fans have many interests that keep us connected year-round. We've got fan clubs and meetups, movie groups and book clubs... and more! What we'd like to do on this website is bring all these groups together so that people can find each other and share their interests. Check out our Fandom Community page, and contact us with any suggestions for additions. We want to know about your clubs, and events that you think would appeal to other fans!

Check Out the Photo Gallery

We've got a photo gallery! Currently you'll find pictures from Keycon 2010 and this year's Hallowe'en Social. If you've got pictures you'd like to share with the Keycon community, please e-mail us and let us know. We'll take both print and digital photos!

KEYCON WANTS YOU!

Helping out your convention is easy: read on!

With any event on the scale of Keycon there needs to be people to organize it! That means we need you all to donate your time and your abilities to help this convention run smoothly and happily! Here is what we are looking for:

  • Dedicated people to give up a few hours a week out of their own time to attend meetings and organize an area of the convention.
  • People who are willing to work hard for nothing but a pat on the back and a "Good job!" at the end of it.
  • People who want to join a small group of fans that feel like family.
  • People who know what they like, and know how to have fun!
  • People who are VERY dedicated to the area they help with.

Want to help out? Fire off an email to our volunteer coordinators Ed and Glen, and they'll get back to you. Be sure to let us know about your particular interests or relevant skills, so we can make your volunteer experience fit you to a T!
