Hello everyone,<\/span><\/p>\n

First we would like to take a moment to acknowledge that Keycon takes place on Treaty 1 territory, traditional lands of the Anishinabe (Ojibway), Ininew (Cree), Oji-Cree, Dene, and Dakota, and is the Birthplace of the M\u00e9tis Nation and the Heart of the M\u00e9tis Nation Homeland.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our theme for this year was worldbuilding, and we never imagined having to face the difficult decision of cancelling the physical convention. Unfortunately, a pandemic is not something we could have predicted when we started this journey.<\/span><\/p>\n

We know how much this convention means to so many of us, and although it does feel a little bittersweet not being at The Radisson this weekend, we decided to give everyone something for our community and we, instead, built an online world.<\/span><\/p>\n

We know these are difficult time for us all, and we hope #VirtualKeycon will do something to help fill this void that has been left.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We’d also like to take a minute to acknowledge the financial strain this has put on many of our local businesses, authors, creators and charities. Please try to take a moment to support them in any way you can, if you are able.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our Charity for this year is Rainbow Resource Centre, we’ve added a link on our website to donate directly to them.<\/span><\/p>\n

Thank you to everyone who has worked hard to help make this happen, and we hope you find enjoyment this weekend. Sending love from our family to yours!<\/span><\/p>\n
