Hello everyone,

First we would like to take a moment to acknowledge that Keycon takes place on Treaty 1 territory, traditional lands of the Anishinabe (Ojibway), Ininew (Cree), Oji-Cree, Dene, and Dakota, and is the Birthplace of the Métis Nation and the Heart of the Métis Nation Homeland.

Our theme for this year was worldbuilding, and we never imagined having to face the difficult decision of cancelling the physical convention. Unfortunately, a pandemic is not something we could have predicted when we started this journey.

We know how much this convention means to so many of us, and although it does feel a little bittersweet not being at The Radisson this weekend, we decided to give everyone something for our community and we, instead, built an online world.

We know these are difficult time for us all, and we hope #VirtualKeycon will do something to help fill this void that has been left. 

We’d also like to take a minute to acknowledge the financial strain this has put on many of our local businesses, authors, creators and charities. Please try to take a moment to support them in any way you can, if you are able.

Our Charity for this year is Rainbow Resource Centre, we’ve added a link on our website to donate directly to them.
